1. Leaking skylights are not only annoying, they can cause serious damage to your roof, attic, ceiling, and other parts of your house. It's important to care of them as quickly as possible. Don't wait until you see your skylight leaking to take action. It's a good idea to do an annual examination of all windows and that includes skylights. Check to ensure there are no cracks and check to make sure the flashing is doing its job too.
2. During the annual examination of the skylight, check for any small cracks that may have occurred from falling branches, hail, or other environmental elements. If you find cracks early enough, they're much easier to repair.
3. Maintenance includes window repair AND window washing. When you are faithful about washing skylights, they last longer and are less likely to have other problems.
